TIGERLAND RESORT, KANHA TIGER RESERVE, MADHYA PRADESH, INDIA. WITHOUT A DOUBT, THE PREMIER TIGER RESERVE AND THE BEST PLACE IN THE WORLD TO SEE WILD TIGERS!

Tigerland Resort is located in the buffer-zone of Kanha Tiger Reserve, the main entrance to the Reserve being just a short drive away. The resort is privately owned and family-run, and staffed by local people from nearby Mocha village. It's small and intimate; your accommodation is a brick-built chalet with it's own toilet and shower, and a verandah where you can relax, read and take drinks, between game-drives. Food at the resort is freshly cooked using produce obtained from the local markets, and whilst Indian quisine is of course available, British guests will be considerately catered for if spicy food is not to their liking. Acting as their agent for the UK, any booking made through me is made direct with the owner, thus funds go directly to the local people who own and run it, there is no middle-man and no corporate profit made by anyone other than the resort itself. This is important to consider as a 21 day wildlife tour through the usual major holiday companies can cost in excess of £3,000 per person, whereas your holiday at Tigerland Resort booked through me direct can cost as little as £65 per night.

The cost is fully inclusive of transfer fees, accommodation on a full-board basis, and two game drives into the forest per day, when you can expect to see Sambar deer, Chital (spotted deer), gaur, langur monkey, wild peacock, wild pig, Indian wild dog, tiger, and possibly leopard or sloth bear. You book your own flight to Delhi, where you will be met on arrival and taken to the railway station and seen on the overnight train to central India for Kanha. There are various alternatives, for example you may wish to stay overnight in Delhi and fly to Kanha the next morning, in which case hotel or guesthouse accommodation can be arranged for you. I recommend a ten day trip, and if you can afford to pay a little extra, split the time between Bandhavgargh and Kanha Tiger Reserves. Bandhavgargh is arguably on a par with Kanha in respect of tiger sightings, indeed as it is considerably smaller it's possibly easier to find them, so five days in each reserve is to be recommended. If you wish to take this option the accommodation in Bandhavgargh and the transfer can be arranged at the time of booking. Accommodation at Bandhavgargh is more up-market then Tigerland Resort, so it's more expensive and not subject to discount.
